  8. is correct except that wolves are not really loners at all, but

  10. howl to be friendly with other wolves.  The wolves can hear each

  12. other howling up to 6 miles away in a forest.  Wolves mate for life

  14. and both parents help raise the 4 to 6 pups born to them each year.

  16. Their fur, feet, and stamina make them well adapted to their cold
  17.  
  18. predatory life.  Social hunters, wolves travel in packs.  They may
  19.  
  20. trek up to 45 miles a day, simply following their prey until it drops
  21.  
  22. from exhaustion.  An adult wolf usually weighs between 75 to
  23.  
  24. 110 pounds and is 4 to 7 feet long.
